Personal Data Protection

The Personal Data Protection Act was enacted to balance two interests – the right of individuals to protect their personal data, and the need for organisations to collect and use personal data for business purposes.

Since the enactment of the Act, there have been many queries on what constitutes a breach and what standard is acceptable for organisations collecting personal data on many levels.

The role of Smart Property’s Data Protection Officer ‘DPO”) ensures that the organisation processes the personal data of its staff, customers, providers or any other individuals in compliance with the applicable data protection rules.

The DPO also serves as an independent advocate to resolve disputes arising from the protection of personal data.
